Richmond Symphony Conducting Workshop
An immersive workshop helping emerging conductors refine technique, deepen score study, and develop an authentic artistic voice.
The Richmond Symphony Conducting Workshop is an immersive professional-development experience for graduate, postgraduate, and early-career conductors.
Led by Richmond Symphony Music Director Valentina Peleggi, the workshop focuses on baton technique, body language, score study, rehearsal technique, communication from the podium, and the development of each conductor’s individual artistic personality.
Workshop experiences may include score-study sessions, individual conducting work with piano, podium time with the Richmond Symphony, a recorded final performance, feedback from musicians and artistic leaders, and opportunities to build professional relationships. Dates, repertoire, fees, application requirements, scholarships, and auditor opportunities are announced for each cycle.
