Symphony Series Companion Course

Go deeper into Symphony Series music through free online classes filled with stories, context, recordings, and special guests.

About the Program

Explore the music of the Richmond Symphony’s Symphony Series through recordings, images, scholarship, biographies, backstage stories, and conversation.

Led by Dr. Julie Bemis, Vice President of Education & Community Engagement, each class focuses on the repertoire of an upcoming Symphony Series concert and welcomes a guest with an important role in the performance. Guests may include Music Director Valentina Peleggi, guest artists, composers, and other members of the creative team.

Each free session runs approximately 60–75 minutes and is designed to help listeners engage more deeply with the music and the artists who bring it to life. Current course dates and viewing information are announced seasonally.
