The Richmond Symphony recently recorded the Loving v. Virginia Suite by composer Damien Geter as part of a new recording project amplifying Virginia Stories and Virginia Voices.

Captured during a dedicated patch session, this recording reflects the culmination of Geter’s multi-year residency with the Symphony and brings to life music drawn from his opera Loving v. Virginia, inspired by the landmark civil rights case.

This recording project is made possible through the generous support of the Philip Loubser Foundation. Their investment allows the Richmond Symphony to preserve and share this work at the highest artistic level, ensuring these stories can be experienced by audiences for years to come.

Featuring: Valentina Peleggi, Music Director Damien Geter, Composer-in-Residence Recorded Live at Carpenter Theatre in Richmond, VA on March 1st, 2026
